Happy New Year
It's here. The New Year - 2013. It arrived on our doorsteps at midnight and settled in quite nicely as 2012 took its leave.
How did I bring in the New Year? Quietly, at home. Thomas wasn't feeling well, so he hit the bed around 9pm to try and fight off whatever was affecting him - specifically his tummy.
I watched Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve, opened up my bottle of Sweet Bitch wine (yum!), found some cheese, crackers, chocolate and strawberries and had myself my own little party while playing on Facebook and listening to some kick ass music (with headphones on, of course).
Some would say it's a pathetic way to bring in the new year. Actually, I enjoyed myself. I wasn't alone - I had my Facebook friends and family to keep me company.
I am not one to set resolutions but rather goals for myself. I have a few in mind that - if you don't mind - I'll keep to myself. (Just like I did last year). But if you're close to me and you're paying attention to me, you'll figure them out. :)
I posted this on my Facebook page last night shortly before midnight. I loved the words and the sentiment behind them so thought I'd share them here as well.
"Sometimes it feels like there are so many things in this world we can't control: earthquakes, floods, reality shows. But it is important to remember the things that we an. Like forgiveness, 2nd chances, fresh starts. Because the one thing that that turns the world from a lonely place to a beautiful place, is love. Love - in any of it's forms- gives us hope. Hope for a New Year. That is what New Years Eve is to me." - ND's Josh Duhamel in the movie New Years Eve.
Happy New Year!!!
