I'm Tired......

On Thursday night I was just getting home from Yoga at 8pm and it started to snow. We were in a storm warning at 6pm that night but I thought maybe it would miss us.

T was home and when I stated that it had started to snow, he shook his head and got this absolutely deflated look on his face; his shoulders visibly slumped. I felt so sorry for him. We were getting ready to crawl in to bed when he took that all important "last look" outside and saw how heavy the snow was coming down and decided he should head over to the main farm.

Enroute he called me and asked, "how bad do you want to make it in to work tomorrow?" That pretty much told me what I needed to know. At 11:00pm I packed up and drove in to town to stay with my sister Peg. The roads had already started to fill in and the "weather" had just started.

Peg welcomed me in to her home and I ended up staying Friday night as well. Although the storm had ended by 5pm, T didn't sound real enthusiastic about me being out on the country roads. I already had plans to meet up with Becky and Stacy for pizza (former employees and now good friends!), so it wasn't much of a decision for me to stay in to town and head home this morning in daylight hours.

Peg and I had made plans to go see Marley & Me, but that was soon put on the backburner when I got to her house and she said that Blaine was on his way over from the gym. My goodness, if he isn't a bright spot! He had us in stitches!! I've said it before, but I'll repeat it: I can NOT have a bad day when he is around.

They say everything happens for a reason. Good thing I was in town. Blaine had to work this morning at 7am, and Peg's ally way was so blocked there was no way that she was going to get out to get him to work. Good thing that I was there with my 4-wheel drive! I was up at 5:30am (yes, on a Saturday too!) to give him a wakeup call. Then off to pick him up at 6:30 so that we could get to Walmart (with a little time left to stop at McDonald's for an egg mcmuffin!) In case you can't tell it, he's the apple of my eye!

I brought breakfast back to Peg's and we sat and talked for a bit then I headed home to do the domestic diva routine. I thought I had all weekend to get some bookwork done, etc....but with the Alberta Clipper coming through, I think I'll head to town tomorrow at the first sign of wind. T said tonight, "good thing I don't have a way to get rid of the whole herd at once, or they'd be gone!" He's out in the crap all day long, working with the cattle and trying to dig out feedbunks, feed cattle, keep machinery running, etc. It seems like we are getting blasted one storm right after another.

And, if the wind isn't enough of a kick in the teeth, high temps for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is only supposed to be -10 to -15 below (without the windchills!).

I have Yoga Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night this week - so I need to get in to town, otherwise I would seriously consider crawling under the covers, covering my head and staying there until May!!!!!!!

Tell me again, why do we live in the frozen tundra? ~L~

Stay safe, stay warm, and TRY to stay positive!

Feel your pain. I hope you guys get a break soon! Thanks for keeping my mom company during the storms. It sounds like you are getting another person to...a regular old slumber party. Hopefully that will get you (and the rest of us) through this winter.
Love you! Stay warm.
