A Heat Wave,

Well, it is a regular heat wave out there! It has warmed up to -10 below zero!!!! (How sad is that?!)

The bright spot in all of this - is that this weekend we are actually supposed to go ABOVE zero for a change, actually hitting the 30 above mark. Woooo Hoooo! Break out the shorts and flip flops! (Kidding, of course).

I'm psyched for today though. It is my 1/2 day at work - which is a wonderful start to the 3-day weekend. I am picking my wonderful mother-in-law up at noon. She hasn't been out of her house for 3 weeks nor has she had her hair done for 3 weeks. Now, we as females, can appreciate how we feel when we get our hair done - especially after three weeks! When I told her that I would take her to get her hair done if she could get an appointment, she JUMPED at the chance! (laughing).

She called me yesterday and had the following plans already laid out: 1) Her stylist could get her in at 9am - the first appointment of the day. 2) Her stylist, Jane, would pick her up on her way to work. 3) After she got her hair done, she would get groceries at the market. 4) I could pick her up at noon 5) We could then go to lunch at The Pantry 6) I could then take her home and then do whatever I needed to do! LOL What a WOMAN! (Gotta love one that has a plan!)

I actually have a massage scheduled today - an hour of pure heaven! Jen, if you are reading this, take your Superwoman pills cuz I have some kingsize knots in my shoulders!

Anywho, it will be GREAT to destress this weekend.

Merry Christmas!

For Christmas 2022, I had promised Blaine that I would take him to Million (aka Michael) and get his UJ (University of Jamestown) tattoo recolored.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and I couldn't fulfill my promise to him. Christmas 2023 I was  subtly  reminded that I owed him his gift from last year!  He forgets  to brush his teeth or clean his apartment but gosh darn he sure remembers if it's something he wants!  Michael was all about making it look like new again and hooked us up with an appointment yesterday.   What a day!!! We started out with coffee and egg McMuffins and plenty of conversation as we rolled down the interstate! I think his mouth was going faster than we were traveling! We covered so man y topics! We laughed a lot but cried a bit too as we remembered the farm and grandpa and grandma.
