They touch you....
People come in and out of your life for a reason. Some stay and are a constant force. They can be counted on to be there when the going gets tough, to hold you, to cry with you, to be silent when words do not matter.
Others are present to teach or instill a lesson that you might otherwise not have learned without their presence or influence.
Still others come and go like the seasons – reentering your life at times when you need them the most and/or least expect it. Their contact with you is brief or fluttering, like the wings of a butterfly as they move through the sky. So too, do they float in and out of your life.
I’ve been fortunate lately to have reconnected with many good friends from years past. They’ve been butterflies floating in on the wind. Former co-workers that I thought I’d never see again, have re-entered my life and sprinkled their own brand of wisdom and spirit on my days. It’s been so fun to hear from them and what they are doing; their accomplishments, trials and tribulations. It’s also a little bittersweet because I know that they will fly off with the wind. Perhaps I’ll hear from them again, perhaps not.
They touch you….
