Support Groups
Support groups.
I have my own personal support group – and they are an awesome bunch of ladies!
1) Jennifer – Massage Therapist.
a. She’s a riot!! I visit with Jen at least once a month. She’s the only woman I’ll get naked for and will let rub me the wrong way (in a good way, of course!). She’s entertaining. I spend most of our time laughing at her anecdotes about her life with her fabulous husband and kids. Once I had to tell her to stop talking! I was laughing so hard that I almost fell off the table! She’s a Virgo (like me), and we have found that we have a lot in common. Kindred spirits, if you like. Time spent on her table (in the vault – cuz what “ is said in the vault stays in the vault”) is treasured. She is bright, intelligent, inquisitive, and has remarkable insight in to life. She’s had it tough and admits to attending the school of hard knocks. But, she’s all the better for it! With those hard knocks comes incredible heart! She always puts her particular spin on subjects that have me reflecting on my own thoughts. She’s a gem! Not only is she my massage therapist, but I consider her a friend as well. I know that if I needed someone to bail me out of a jam, Jen would be there for me in a heartbeat. That’s just the kind of gal that she is.
2) Brooke – Reflexologist
a. What a beautiful spirit. She’s quiet, thoughtful, considerate, and a darn good reflexologist. She knows me and my moods. She’ll talk when she sees that I’m in a talkative mood, and she’s equally as quiet when she observes that all I want to do is destress. She doesn’t comment about my funky nail polish colors and she doesn’t snicker when I doze off and snore (in a very lady like fashion, of course). She’s interested in my life, my yoga, and my job, and shares snipits of her life with me as well. She surprises me with different scents of essential oils – and always seems to pick one relating to my mood of the day. She’s awesome. The fact that I get to see her every month is just icing on the cake! I’m very happy to include her as a member of my support team.
3) Eva – Stylist.
a. What can I say about the only woman to know my true hair color! As with Jennifer, Eva brings her own remarkable brand of humor to our sessions. I very seldom cancel my appointment with Eva – and not just because my roots need a touch up! Nope! I laugh with her, I destress, I listen to her quirky views on life and pretty much just let her talk. (She’s good at it). J Once in a great while she’ll forget to put coloring gloves on, and I have to remind her to color inside the lines …but know what??? There isn’t anyone else that I trust with my hair. I’ve given her carte blanche to do whatever she wants to do; to play and try out new things. (Within reason: No mowhawks, and no pink, green, orange or purple hair!!). I think the other stylists are envious of her when she says “hmmmm, I’m wondering what I should do to you today.” I love it! I’ve never had the same style twice, nor the same color twice. It fits my moods; ever changing, ever evolving ...and Eva gets that!!!
Yes, these are the women on my support team. They’re bright, warm, sincere, humorous and giving. I’m so lucky to have gotten these three women to sign on to be MY support team! You ladies Rock!!!
