Hey Blizzard Fans!

What a day, eh?? I tell you what, if you weren't holding on to your hat today, most likely it was in MN by now!

I'm sitting here typing this while at my sister's house. She is a gracious host and has pretty much been letting me stay rent free all winter long. Of course, I DO give her a ride to work so that she doesn't have to get her car out of the garage and fight the ugly streets. Everything navigates better in a 4-wheel drive - except my wonderful country roads, of course.

Tonight I picked up my nephew Blaine and brought him over to Peggy's as well. He is a joy to be around and - in fact - is watching me type this! (Say "HI" Blaine!)

We had a wonderful supper of roast pork, smashed potatoes, creamed cabbage, corn, and these scrumptious rice krispie bars covered in chocolate. We all pretty much decided that any food consumed during a blizzard doesn't have any calories! Yeah! Hey! We got to find SOMETHING good about this damn blizzard.

I'm relatively sure that I won't be getting home until Friday night or Saturday morning. Poor Thomas is stuck over at the other farm with the cattle again. I spoke with him earlier and he sounds positively defeated. I can't imagine what he goes through during the day to take care of the cattle on a good day, let alone in a Blizzard.

I am asking Blaine what else I should write about in my blog tonight. We've been taking trips down memory lane all night long. He reminded me of the time that he couldn't be found anywhere on the farm! He scared the bejeebers out of everyone. But alas, we found him sitting in the middle of the strawberry patch with his diapers, eating strawberries (and dirt) just being a happy little camper! Spoiled rotten little chit! (HAHAHA)

Peggy and I were remembering our childhoods and how differently we grew up. Me, being the youngest of 6 kids, had a different childhood growing up than she did - as the middle child. We've determined that we were raised in two different families within the family. All good, just different memories for each of us.

Terry emailed me this morning - he was stuck at home on a regular snow day! He started out the email by saying, "Hey Sherry, I'm remembering the good ole days when we would get stormed in at home and bake bread - then come up to Mom and Dad's and spend time there. Wouldn't you know it, we get a snow day, and there is no bread to bake!" Those WERE the good ole days and definitely brings a smile to my face. BUT, I'm making new memories here with Peggy and Blaine - two of my favorite people in the whole world! And, Peggy and I have done good, we haven't hit the sauce too much! Of course, the week isn't over yet.

I'm going to take Blaine and Peggy to their work places tomorrow morning. I'm hoping that the weather will subside overnight and that the roads won't give me too much trouble. Blaine's good friend Bruce will give him a ride home at 5:00pm, so I will be able to do my worksite yoga if anyone shows up. Blaine, bless his heart, brought a pizza for us for supper tomorrow night. We already have supper locked in for tomorrow night! Yeah! The real bonus though, is that we get to spend more time with our guy, Blaine! Blaine is wearing some of his special olympics gear from Idaho tonight. He looks pretty sharp.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess that I'll end this blog entry in to the blogosphere with this one little snipit of wit...

(Sorry Peggy, I couldn't resist!)
