Cleaning

It's a necessary evil in life and or seems like it's all I've been doing lately.

Today was Blaine's day off.  I went to his apartment at 10ish and visited with him over a cup of coffee and some breakfast Pizza.  We discussed our plan of attack and set out to tackle it. 

I'm SO proud of him!  He's been working hard to keep up with dishes and garbage.   He is taking pride in his apart now, which I hoped he would.  I keep stressing to him that the more he does on his own, the less it cuts on to "Our" time.   Today it took us only 1 hour to clean.  Positive reinforcement = progress!

We celebrated with lunch and a beer ..then I came home to do my own house.  I did a load of laundry and prepped three meals for the week.   It feels good to be a bit on top of things.

Tonight, I'm all about relaxing.  I'm fried....physically,  emotionally and mentally.   I'm enjoying some of the simpler things ...then headed to bed. Early.  (And no! I am NOT old!).

Tonight, the entire northeast (both in the US and up here in Tundraland) are forecast to get a big winter storm. Oh joy! Guess winter's not over with just yet (sigh).

Merry Christmas!

For Christmas 2022, I had promised Blaine that I would take him to Million (aka Michael) and get his UJ (University of Jamestown) tattoo recolored.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and I couldn't fulfill my promise to him. Christmas 2023 I was  subtly  reminded that I owed him his gift from last year!  He forgets  to brush his teeth or clean his apartment but gosh darn he sure remembers if it's something he wants!  Michael was all about making it look like new again and hooked us up with an appointment yesterday.   What a day!!! We started out with coffee and egg McMuffins and plenty of conversation as we rolled down the interstate! I think his mouth was going faster than we were traveling! We covered so man y topics! We laughed a lot but cried a bit too as we remembered the farm and grandpa and grandma.
