Twenty Twenty Two

It's a frigid North Dakota Day...-19 this morning.   I'm on my couch, sipping a hot cup of coffee and reflecting on 2021, anticipating 2022.

To say that 2021 was a fantastic year would be on overstatement, yet it wasn't horrible either.  Living through another year of Covid was less than desirable but I made lemonade out of lemons wherever possible.

I want a mantra or word  that will help me focus on 2022.  I've picked transforming.   Why?

Because I feel like a catapillar transforming in to a butterfly.   Everything around me is changing...rapidly...and I feel that my best self is evolving...transforming...on a daily basis.  I have the next 365 days to truly live life ...on my terms...no apologies

I do not view this as being selfish or narcissistic.   I view my mantra as being strong, focused, active and determined.   In order to be any good to anyone, one must be happy with oneself.

My priority is Me, my health and my well being.  My diet, exercise and peace of mind will be my focus   Transformation will be my goal.  I will pull upon the support of family and friends willing to support my mantra.  Those unwilling to support me have chosen their status in my journey.

I have the next 365 days to evolve ...transform.....from catapillar to butterfly.

Let the journey begin.

Happy 2K22 New Year, Sherry!

Here, in Toronto, it's not as cold as where you live - a balmy 40F, with most of our most recent snowfall all melted away - at least for now.

Looks like we all are in for (at least) most of another year of some type of Covid drama. We here have received our double dose of vaccine, with another booster shot dose scheduled later this month. Recently our daughter caught (luckily) a very mild case of Covid but now is pretty well over of it. Hope you guys are doing ok and staying healthy.

I love reading how you write about "transforming", to be happy with yourself, to not let life get you down, to "not sweat the small stuff" in other words. Peace of mind is really the answer to everything else. With that in mind I try hard to expose myself to less of the negative media, peeps, etc. that's so prevalent out there.

So enjoy your journey as I keep you company (mentally) along the way. Hopefully we'll all have lots of other butterflies in our lives to join us.

Thank you Rob...and Happy New Year to you and yours! So glad your daughter came out Covid. Tom and I are both vaccinated and boosted as well. It gives us peace of mind but we are still cautious.

If Covid has taught me one thing, its that "don't sweat the small stuff" is truly the phrase to live by.

I plan to make 2022 a good year..the transformation will be welcomed, the journey worth it.
