Beast of a Day...no..Week!

Make it stop!   This week has been insane, and it's only Wednesday!!

My co-workers say I'm spicy.  I call it standing up for myself.

I normally roll...and roll...and roll...until I can't roll any more.  Then the filter comes off and I speak my mind.  I don't do well with micro managers.  I'm almost 59 years old and have been doing my job for 23 years.  I know what needs to be done...and when.  So when I'm getting emails that 'poke' at MY work ethic, hell yeah I'm going to get spicey!

I've found that communication,  or lack thereof, can make or break anything!.

Today was a prime example.  My facility went live in to Phase 3 visitation (from Covid).  All well and good, except I knew nothing about it..and I'm the Scheduling/Visitation officer.  To add fuel to the fire, there was no set schedule.  My immediate supervisor fires off an email that reads, and I quote, "you need to change from Phase 2 to 3 immediately."   My response?  Quote. "Gladly. When I know what the exact scedule is".  Went over like a lead balloon.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

Luckily for everyone involved, I was working remotely today.  The only one affected by my screamiing outrage was my husband...and the batteries on his hearing aides died!

I'm optimistic though.  Tomorrow is a new day...and I'm positive there will be another shit show that demands my immediate attention.

How di do, my Spicy Lady blog buddy !

I see yesterday was a "fun" workday (not!) for you there. Hopefully today proves to be a little saner for you, if not exactly for me.

I just noticed that somehow I've lost one of my credit cards. Bummer! Fortunately, since I'm one of those anally organized dudes, I had all the information in my files to still log into my credit card account, report the card as being lost, and the nice computer voice at the other end informed me that my card account was now blocked and that I'd get a new card arriving in the snail mail within the next 7 to 10 business days. A confirmation email was also automatically sent to me. Cool. I never even had to natter to some live flunky person at the other end to get this done. Now hopefully I get my new card asap, as promised. Fingers crossed.

Also hopefully your patient (if not slightly deaf) hubby is still alive (and well) and has a new fresh supply of hearing aid batteries :-)

Some days are like that for us, agree?

So hang in there. Now then - how many more days till retirement did you say that you still have?

Keep smiling friend.

Lol. Too many YEARS for my liking! But today is Friday, I am working remotely,no one has pissed in my Wheaties, and hubs went fishing with a new set of hearing aid batteries! Things are looking up!

Glad you noticed your card lost and were able to cancel it. Hopefully no one made any bogus charges on it. My hair stylist was in Fargo last weekend. While she was in pool with her 3yr, a man calmly and boldly walked up to the pool, grabbed her phone and WAlKED out the area and was gone by the tine she could get herself and daughter out the pool. She had NO two-step verification...within minutes he had disabled her phone tracker, hacked in to her Venmo account and bank accounts. And of course, police are "sorry but this happens alot. Use 2-step verification now ". Uggghhh. Society!

So your "hubs went fishing with a new set of hearing aid batteries!". That's cool since now he can better listen for any fish swimming nearby although I thought a fishing rod might be a better way to catch such stuff; but hey, I'm no fisherman so what do I know about such things, eh? :-)

As soon as I noticed that my card was lost, I logged online and checked my account transactions log. All looked good so I immediately had them block and freeze the account.

That drama that affected your hair stylist sure sounded like a bummer. Crooks are so daring and resourceful. Years ago my wife and I, along with one of my BILs (I have 8 of them) and his wife, had just arrived in Aruba for a vacation. The first morning after we arrived there my SIL absentmindedly left her camera on an outdoor table and took her eyes off it for "just a minute". That's all it took for some guy to walk off with it. Talk about a "nice way" to begin one's vacation - not! So, as they say: "sh*t happens" (pardon my French).

Anywho, I'm happy to see that your Wheaties (so far) are safe and sound. Hopefully your day is going well and you're in for a great weekend ahead. As for moi, I'm just happy that I live here in Toronto because I hear that (again) they expect another mother of a heat wave out west - both in the US and here in Canada. With all their out of control wild fires, along with Covid crap, that is not good for many of those people.

So I guess we both have to be thankful for what we have, agree? Stay Safe.
