Forgive me, for it's been...
almost ten days since my last blog post.
It's been a wild ride around these parts. If the weather isn't kickin me in the pants, work is. I'm a go-getter...always have been, but this is a little ridiculous.
Monday morning started out with me frantically packing up an overnight bag and my yoga gear preparing for a night in town as the 2nd Blizzard to hit ND blew through the region. I shouldn't have gone to work, but I did (damn work ethics). A few hair-raising moments when I literally stopped on the interstate because I couldn't see the front of my 4Runner hood. I know! Stupid! I crept along at a snails pace and literally prayed for His guidance to get me to my destination safely. He listenened.
So needless to say, another night was spent with my sister Peggy. And yes, that also meant..wine! ~LOL~
(Only 1 1/2 bottles this time though). We had a fun evening watching the KU Jayhawks beat up on Missouri.... I have to say that my sister gets a smidge animated during games. At one point I thought she was gonna toss her bowl of popcorn at the tv! I was ready to duck for cover!
I was able to get home last night after my yoga classes, thankfully. Today the wind howled across the prairie causing absolutely frigid wind chills. I went to the gym tonight to work off some tension and when I walked outside, my hair was instantly freeze dried! ~LOL~ (To all you worry worts out there, yes, I was wearing a hat! but the ends were freeze dried).
So, here I sit at the 'puter with my cat Boris purring on my lap...with 3 pairs of socks on (me, not the cat!), trying to keep warm. I'm a bit of a miser and don't like to turn the heat up when we go to bed, so I pile on the clothes - only to shed them when I get a power surge (hot flash) in the middle of the night!
Work is work. The best part of work is ...the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for my job, especially in the economy - but sometimes the clock can't turn 4:30 fast enough. I am thankful for the people that I work with though. Someone will always say or do something to put a smile on my face or make me laugh. Given where we work, humor and laughter is probably all we have to get us through the day.
Life is simple, its just not easy. ~Author Unknown
