almost ten days since my last blog post.
It's been a wild ride around these parts. If the weather isn't kickin me in the pants, work is. I'm a go-getter...always have been, but this is a little ridiculous.
Monday morning started out with me frantically packing up an overnight bag and my yoga gear preparing for a night in town as the 2nd Blizzard to hit ND blew through the region. I shouldn't have gone to work, but I did (damn work ethics). A few hair-raising moments when I literally stopped on the interstate because I couldn't see the front of my 4Runner hood. I know! Stupid! I crept along at a snails pace and literally prayed for His guidance to get me to my destination safely. He listenened.
So needless to say, another night was spent with my sister Peggy. And yes, that also meant..wine! ~LOL~
(Only 1 1/2 bottles this time though). We had a fun evening watching the KU Jayhawks beat up on Missouri.... I have to say that my sister gets a smidge animated during games. At one point I thought she was gonna toss her bowl of popcorn at the tv! I was ready to duck for cover!
I was able to get home last night after my yoga classes, thankfully. Today the wind howled across the prairie causing absolutely frigid wind chills. I went to the gym tonight to work off some tension and when I walked outside, my hair was instantly freeze dried! ~LOL~ (To all you worry worts out there, yes, I was wearing a hat! but the ends were freeze dried).
So, here I sit at the 'puter with my cat Boris purring on my lap...with 3 pairs of socks on (me, not the cat!), trying to keep warm. I'm a bit of a miser and don't like to turn the heat up when we go to bed, so I pile on the clothes - only to shed them when I get a power surge (hot flash) in the middle of the night!
Work is work. The best part of work is ...the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for my job, especially in the economy - but sometimes the clock can't turn 4:30 fast enough. I am thankful for the people that I work with though. Someone will always say or do something to put a smile on my face or make me laugh. Given where we work, humor and laughter is probably all we have to get us through the day.
Life is simple, its just not easy. ~Author Unknown

Hey All!
It's Monday and I don't have to work! LOVE Holidays!
Thank you to Martin Luther King for all that he inspired in this great country of ours. His vision is now a reality, but there is still so much work to be done to combat racism in this country.
My "to do" list is a bit too long. I took yesterday off and did nothing but read, watch football and play with the layout of my yoga blog. (Psssst! Go take a look at it and let me know what you think via the poll shown on the right hand side).
Anywho, today is get stuff done day! Sounds exciting, yes? Yeah...not so much!
Agenda:

Agenda:
- Make a yoga-package for a benefit for a young 17-yr old girl battling cancer.
- Deal with a medical bill that seems to have 9 lives - it keeps coming back to haunt me after I've thought it was paid off (according to my records it is, but the facility says 'no') HATE it when their bookwork and mine do not mesh. I'm armed for war though and have plenty of evidence that it is!
- Maybe have lunch with a friend - maybe not - am waiting for her to call me.
- May have lunch with Blaine - pending on if friend calls me or not.
- May have lunch with both if they both call! (hehehehe)
- Go work out at gym. Now - I SHOULD have done this yesterday but couldn't see driving in to town JUST to work out. Oh wait! Perhaps laziness and FOOTBALL might have a little something to do with it too! (hehehehehe)
- Go to Wallyworld and stock up on the essentials that always run out at the same time.
- Visit Tara for some Vitamin D
- Have a reflexology appointment with Brooke! (THIS is my favorite appointment of the whole day).
- Come home and get ready for a reallllllllly loooooooooooooong week!

Sleep Deprived!
I told you this would happen. My books have all arrived from Amazon and I am elated! I opened the package and held each book as if it were a brick of gold. I read the covers to get a sweet glimpse inside each book - arguing with myself over which book was to be the first book to hold my undivided attention.
Acheron won. Why? This is an excerpt from the book cover: "He was made human in order to escape death. But in death - he was reborn a God." Helloooo???!! Does that not scream "READ ME??!
Hubster is grateful - it's been extremely quite around the house as I've been reading almost non-stop since I decided to spend my days and nights with Acheron. Last night we were together until 2am - that's when the pages became blurred. This morning, we've (Ash - that's my and the author's nickname for him- and me) enjoyed a wonderful hot cup of coffee together! In bed even! Hmmmm... :-)
Seriously, I can get lost in books. Even now, it is taking everything in me not to stay in my pajama's all day and spend the day with Acheron. But alas! Nope - the house needs tending and I need to hit the gym.
So, with great regret, I need to put Acheron down on the bed - with a loving glance and caress - and leave him until I return to him tonight - freshly bathed and scented, ready to pick up where we left off this morning.
I LOVE books!!

Brrrrrrr!
Once again, we are thrown in the throes of the Arctic tundra! The high temperatures today are a whopping -11, with -50 below wind chills!
Yesterday was just plain nasty! The snow accumulation 5-8 in the metro area wasn’t the issue, it was the wind blowing it around that made travel downright hazardous.
Hubs left for the ranch yesterday morning and called back advising me to pack a bag, stating “if it keeps this up all day long, neither of us will get home.” I was a little bit miffed, as T tends to be on the pessimistic side of life. However, as my 4Runner was getting hung up on snow drifts on my way to town, I was a little glad that I humored him and packed a bag, preparing for 1 or two days in town .
Yes folks, I stayed at my sister Peggy’s last night. When I emailed her with the subject line stating “Reservations Desk Please,” she didn’t even hesitate and said “The Inn is open.” God Bless her! After shoveling her walkways and getting the vehicle parking situation figured out (would it be better for me to park on the street or back by the garage – protected from wind?), we settled in to a nice night of conversation, good food, and WINE! Yippee!
Now, I don’t want any of you to think that all we do is drink wine when I get snowed in. Well….. Ok, maybe it is, but that’s beside the point! (hahahaha) We had fun, that’s the main thing.! I did have a tad bit of a headache this morning though, so I’m thinking we should have stopped at one bottle and not opened the second – though we didn’t finish the 2nd bottle. (That, folks, is an improvement! ) J
Winter officially bites – but staying with my sister sure makes it bearable.
